A Caring Place is dedicated to being a source of hope and practical help to women facing untimely pregnancies; as well as families in need through an array of no-cost services. We want you to feel comfortable in our judgment-free, caring, confidential, and professional environment. Our mission is to continue to reach more expectant mothers and families in our community by supporting them with the resources we have.

Our Story

Shawna Dunn, the center’s current executive director driven by her personal experience and passion to serve, started A Caring Place Pregnancy Center in July 1998.  Although Shawna spearheaded the founding of the center many friends and community members played integral roles in getting the pregnancy center off the ground.

Today, A Caring Place is governed by a Board of Directors and although some of the original board members have moved on, the center still remains based on the original founding principles.  In the many years since its opening the center has impacted many families in our community and served several thousand clients

Pamela Blankenship

Events Coordinator

As the mother of two daughters and married to her husband for 25 years, Pam values family deeply and brings that same sense of care and connection to her work. Pam spent years as a dedicated stay-at-home mom and held various volunteer roles at her church and children’s school. During this time, she also worked part-time as a PR Coordinator.

She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati DAAP.  Her professional experience, a keen artistic eye, and her attention to detail are invaluable in creating visually engaging and meaningful content. That, along with a heart for non-profit work and a passion for planning and hosting events, makes Pam an excellent fit as our Event Coordinator.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Pam enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, traveling to new places, and creative activities.
